Mengajarkan Generasi Yang Baru | Teaching The New Generation

Pembacaan Alkitab: Hakim-Hakim 1-2

Semasa masih ada Yosua, bangsa Israel hidup sesuai dengan perintah Tuhan dan kebenaran-Nya. Setelah Yosua mati, banyak dari mereka yang berbalik dari Tuhan dan menyembah allah-allah lain karena penduduk yang tidak mereka tumpas. Tetapi setelah di tegur oleh Tuhan mereka bertobat dan hidup sesuai dengan Firman Tuhan. Tetapi anak-anak mereka, generasi-generasi baru mereka, tidak mengenal jalan Tuhan dan tidak mengenal pekerjaan dan apa yang Tuhan telah lakukan bagi orang Israel, sehingga generasi-generasi baru ini tidak menyembah Tuhan tetapi menyembah Baal dan Asyterot.

Seringkali kita membuat kesalahan yang sama seperti orang Israel, yakni tidak mengajarkan kepada generasi-generasi baru akan kebenaran Tuhan, tidak memberikan kesaksian kepada mereka akan kebesaran dan kuasa Tuhan yang menyertai mereka sepanjang hidup mereka. Banyak dari kita juga tidak mengajarkan kepada generasi-generasi baru akan kebenaran dan kebesaran Tuhan. Kita sibuk mengajarkan mereka akan hal-hal yang duniawi, yang sementara, tetapi kita lupa untuk mengajarkan mereka akan kebenaran Tuhan. Biarlah kita belajar dari kesalahan orang Israel dan biarlah kita mengajarkan kepada generasi-generasi baru akan kebenaran dan kebesaran Tuhan, sehingga mereka menyembah Tuhan Yesus Kristus dan bukan menyembah allah-allah lain yang adalah berhala.

Marilah kita turunkan apa yang Tuhan telah ajarkan kepada kita. Marilah kita bersaksi akan apa yang Tuhan telah lakukan dalam kehidupan kita. Biarlah nama Tuhan terus di junjung tinggi turun temurun di dalam kehidupan kita dan kepada generasi-generasi yang baru.

Bible Reading: Judges 1-2

When Joshua was still alive, Israelites lived according to the commands of the Lord and His truth. After Joshua died, many of them turn from the Lord and start worshiping other gods because of the people of the land whom they did not get rid of. But after they were rebuked by the Lord, they repented and lived according to the Word of God. But their children, their new generations, did not know the way of the Lord and do not know the work of the Lord and what the Lord had done for the Israelites, so that the new generations do not worship the Lord but they worshiped Baal and Ashtoreths.

Many times, we make the same mistake that the Israelites did, that is not teaching the new generations of the truth of the Lord, did not testify to them about the Lord's greatness and power that leads them all their lives. Many of us also do not teach the new generations of the truth and the greatness of the Lord. We are busy teaching them of the worldly things, the temporary things, but we forgot to teach them the truth of the Lord. Let us learn from the mistake of the Israelites and let us teach the new generations of His truth and greatness, so that the would worship the Lord Jesus Christ and not other gods who are idols.

Let us pass down what the Lord has taught us. Let us testify of what the Lord had done in our lives. Let the name of the Lord be lifted up from generation to generation in our lives.
