Pembacaan Alkitab: Bilangan 12-13

Miryam dan Harun berdosa dengan mengatai Musa yang adalah orang pilihan Tuhan sebagai perantara antara Tuhan dan umat-Nya. Dan akibatnya adalah Miryam terkena kusta. Tetapi karena mereka bertobat, maka oleh perantaraan Musa dan doanya, Tuhan sembuhkan Miryam setelah ia dikucilkan selama tujuh hati. Dari kejadian ini kita dapat belajar beberapa hal.

Yang pertama, kita perlu untuk hormat dan tunduk kepada pimpinan yang Tuhan telah pilih atas kita. Sebab pimpinan yang telah Tuhan pilih disertai dan ada urapan Tuhan atasnya dan bila kita berontak kepada pimpinan kita, maka ktia juga berontak kepada Tuhan. Oleh sebab itu, marilah kita tunduk dan hormat kepada pimpinan kita.

Yang kedua, seringkali penyakit yang kita alami adalah dikarenakan oleh dosa dan bukan karena serangan roh-roh jahat. Oleh sebab itu, sangatlah penting untuk kita selalu memeriksa diri kita dahulu dan bertobat sehingga kita mengalami anugrah Tuhan dan menjadi sembuh.

Yang ketiga adalah untuk kita segera bertobat jika kita sadar bahwa kita telah berdosa. Seperti Miryam, bila ia dan Harun tidak langsung bertobat, maka Miryam akan mengalami kusta lebih lama dan pelan-pelan ia dapat kehilangan bagian-bagian tubuhnya dan akhirnya ia meninggal. Oleh sebab itu marilah kita bertobat dengan segera bila ktia telah disadari bahwa kita berdosa. Janganlah biarkan dosa itu masih ada di dalam kita.

Jadi, biarlah kita aplikasikan hal-hal ini sehingga kita ditemukan setia dan taat di hadapan Tuhan.

Bible Reading: Numbers 12-13

Miriam and Aaron sinned by speaking against Moses who is chosen by the Lord as mediator between the Lord and His people. And the consequence is that Miriam was turned a leper. But because they repented, then, through Moses and his prayer as mediator, the Lord healed Miriam after seven days of banishment from the camp. Through this incident we can learn a few things.

THe first one, is that we need to honour and submit to our leaders whom are appointed by the Lord over us.. Because the leaders are chosen, accompanied by the Lord and has the anointing of the Lord and if we rebel against our leaders, then we are also rebelling against the Lord. Therefore, let us submit and honour our leaders.

The second one, is that many times, our sicknesses is because of sin and not because of the attacks of the evil spirit. Therefore, it is important for us to always check ourselves first and repent so that we will experience God's grace and be healed.

The third one is that we need to immediately repent if we realise that we have sinned. Just as Miriam, if she and Aaron did not immediately repent, then Miriam would have been a leper for a longer period of time and slowly she will lose parts of her body and in the end she will die. Therefore, let us repent immediately when we realise that we have sinned. Do not let that sin dwell in us.

So, let us apply these things so that we are found faithful and obedient before the Lord.
