Pembacaan Alkitab: Markus 4

Tuhan Yesus berkata: "Barang siapa mempunyai telinga untuk mendengar, hendaklah ia mendengar" Tuhan mengajarkan banyak hal kepada orang banyak dan juga para pegikut dan murid-murid-Nya. Marilah kita perhatikan dengan seksama perumpamaan tentang penabur benih dan biarlah kita mendengarkan Firman yang Tuhan sampaikan.

Ada 4 macam orang yang menerima Firman Tuhan yang Tuhan Yesus ajarkan pada kita. Yang pertama, adalah mereka yang mendengarkan Firman tetapi langsung diambil oleh iblis. Ini adalah orang-orang yang hanya mendengarkan Firman tetapi yang hidupnya masih terus penuh dengan dosa dan tidak bertobat sehingga Firman itu hilang. Yang kedua adalah mereka yang mendengar dan menerima Firman dengan gembira, tetapi mereka tidak berakar. Ini adalah mereka yang menerima Firman tetapi tidak mengolah atau melakukannya setiap hari sehingga mereka tidak berakar dan tidak memiliki fondasi yang kuat. Maka dari itu, bila ada penganiayaan dan tindasan datang, mereka murtad. Yang ketiga adalah mereka yang mendengar dan menerima Firman, mereka bertumbuh, tetapi mereka tidak berbuah karena mereka masih terpengaruhi oleh kekuatiran dunia, tipu muslihat kekayaan dan keinginan-keinginan akan hal-hal yang tidak berguna bagi iman kita. Orang-orang yang ketiga ini lebih giat bertumbuh dalam Tuhan di banding yang pertama dan kedua, tetapi yang ketiga ini masih memegang kepada hal-hal dunia dan tidak memiliki iman bahwa Tuhanlah penyedia segalanya. Yang keempat adalah mereka yang mendengarkan Firman, menerimanya dan berbuah berkali-kali lipat. Ini adalah mereka yang menerima Firman Tuhan, lakukannya setiap hari dan juga bekerja sehingga dapat berbuah. Mereka juga bertumbuh dalam iman dan bukan hanya pengetahuan dan disertai dengan perbuatan, maka berbuahlah mereka. Iman itu timbul dari pendengaran dan pendengaran akan Firman Tuhan, oleh sebab itu Tuhan mengajarkan pada kita untuk kita mendengarkan Firman Tuhan, tetapi juga perlu disertai dengan perbuatan agar kita berbuah.

Jadi, biarlah kita belajar dari perumpamaan ini dan biarlah kita tinggalkan dosa-dosa kita dan bertobat, biarlah kita tidak hanya mendengarkan, tetapi kita juga melakukannya, merenungkannya siang dan malam. Biarlah kita juga tumbuh dalam iman oleh karena Firman Tuhan, sehingga kita tidak kalah atau dihimpit oleh segala kekuatiran atau tipu muslihat kekayaan di dunia. Biarlah kita beriman penuh kepada Tuhan bahwa Ia yang akan memenuhi dan menjaga kehidupan kita. Biar kita semua mendengar, menerima Firman dan berbuah berkali-kali lipat.

Bible Reading: Mark 4

The Lord Jesus said, "He who has ear to hear, let him hear." The Lord taught a lot of things to the crowd and also to His followers and disciples. Let us learn in depth about the parable of the sower and let us listen to the Word of God.

There are 4 kinds of people who hears the Word of God. The first one are those who hear the Word of God but it was taken from them straight away by the devil. This is those who only hear the Word of God but whose lives are still full of sin and does not repent, that the Word of God is gone. The second are those who hear and receives it with joy, but they do not have roots. This is those who receives the Word of God but do not work on it or apply it everyday that they do not have roots and do not have strong foundation. Therefore, when tribulation and persecution arrives, they stumble. The third are those who listens, and receives the Word of God, they grow but they do not bear fruit because they are still influenced by the wprries of the world, the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for things not beneficial for our faith. The third one has done more to grow in the Lord than the first and the second, but the third one still holds to the worldly things and do not have faith that the Lord provides. The fourth one are those who listens to the Word of God, receives it and be fruitful. This is those who receives the Word of God and do it every day and also work so that they may be fruitful. They also grow in faith and not only in knowledge and also with action so that they are fruitful. Faith comes from hearing and hearing of the Word of God, that's why the Lord taught us to hear the Word of God, but also need to be followed by action so that we may be fruitful.

Therefore let us learn from this parable and let us leave behind our sins and repent, let us not only listen, but do it, meditate on it day and night. Let us also grow in faith because of the Word of God, so that we would not lose or be crushed by the worries or deceitfulness of the riches of the world. Let us have faith wholly in the Lord that He will provide and takes care of our lives. Let us all listen, receives the Word of God and be fruitful.
