Hadirat Tuhan | The Presence of God

Pembacaan Alkitab: 1Samuel 5-6

Melalui kejadian saat Tabut Allah direbut oleh orang Filistin, kita dapat melihat dengan jelas bahwa Tuhanlah Allah dan tidak ada allah lain selain daripada-Nya. Bukan hanya itu saja, tetapi kita juga dapat melihat bahwa kuasa gelap dan iblis tunduk dan kalah di bawah kuasa Tuhan. Sebagai bukti, patung Dagon, allah orang Asdod, jatuh dengan muka menghadap ke tanah dan bahkan kepala dan kedua tangannya terbelah di hadapan hadirat Tuhan. Sungguh luar biasa hadirat Tuhan itu. Hadirat-Nya saja dapat mengalahkan kuasa-kuasa gelap apa lagi bila Tuhan sendiri yang turun tangan?

Oleh karena itu, marilah kita hormati hadirat Tuhan di tengah-tengah kita. Biarlah kita jangan bermain-main dengan Tuhan kita. Bila kita tahu bahwa hadirat-Nya penuh kuasa dan adalah kudus, maka biarlah kita selalu memiliki sikap hati yang hormat dan takut akan Tuhan. Sebab Tuhan tidak hanya hadir di gereja atau di dalam perkumpulan orang-orang percaya saja. Tetapi Tuhan itu Maha Hadir dan ada di manapun kita berada. Jadi, janganlah kita seperti orang Filistin yang menaruh Tuhan di sampiing Dagon, yakni, janganlah kita menginginkan Tuhan tetapi juga menginginkan dosa atau allah-allah lain di dalam hidup kita. Singkatnya, jangan kita mendua hati tetapi, hiduplah dengan rasa takut dan hormat akan Tuhan dan hormatilah hadirat-Nya.

Through the event when the ark of God was stolen from the Philistines, we can see clearly that the Lord is God and there is no other gods other than Him. Not only that, we can also see that the power of darkness and satan is defeated under the Lord's power. As proof, Dagon, the god of the people of Ashdod, fell with face on the floor and even the head and the palms of the hands were broken off. How great is the presence of the Lord. If His presence can defeat the power of darkness, what if the Lord Himself who lay His hands?

Therefore, let us honour and respect the presence of the Lord in our midst. Let us not play around with the Lord. If we know that His presence if full of power and is holy, then let us always have the right attitude of honour and reverence towards the Lord. Because the Lord is not only present at church or gathering of believers. But the Lord is Omnipresence and is there where ever we are. So, do not be like the Philistines who put the Lord next to Dagon, that is, do not want God but also want sin or other gods in our lives. In short, do not be double-minded, but live with reverence and honour to the Lord and honour His presence.
