Pembacaan Alkitab: Kisah Para Rasul 4
Banyak dari kita mungkin merasa takut bila kita memberitakan Firman Tuhan atau bersaksi dan bahkan bila kita diminta untuk berdoa akan mujijat terjadi bagi mereka yang memerlukan. Mungkin karena kita takut ditolak, diejek, atau karena kita takut akan bagaimana bila setelah kita berdoa, mujijat tidak terjadi. Tetapi melalui kejadian yang terjadi atas Petrus dan Yohanes, kita dapat belajar sesuatu dari mereka. Walaupun mereka ditangkap, disidang dan diancam, mereka tidak berhenti untuk memberitakan Firman Tuhan. Mereka tahu bahwa Roh Kuduslah yang akan memberikan kepada mereka kekuatan, keberanian dan juga kuasa seperti yang Tuhan Yesus janjikan. Dan bila kita perhatikan, oleh karena Roh Kuduslah Petrus dan Yohanes dapat berkata-kata ketika mereka disidang dan melalui Roh Kuduslah mereka mendapatkan keberanian kembali untuk memberitakan Injil Kristus.
Inilah yang dapat kita pelajari dari para rasul, yakni untuk hidup bergantung kepada Roh Kudus dan untuk percaya penuh kepada Firman-Nya. Sebab Tuhan menjanjikan Roh Kudus yang akan memberikan kuasa untuk bersaksi dan Tuhan juga yang berkata bahwa kuasa dan tanda-tanda mujijat akan mengikuti kita. Jadi, marilah kita jangan takut untuk memberitakan Injil, tetapi biarlah kita meminta hikmat, keberanian dari Roh Kudus. Sebab Roh Kudus yang akan memimpin, memberi kuasa dan menaruh perkataan di mulut kita, bila kita dengan sungguh-sungguh percaya dan melakukan Firman Tuhan untuk bersaksi bagi Tuhan.

Many of us maybe are afraid if we have to share the Gospel or testify and even if we are asked to pray so that miracle will happen for those who needs it. Maybe because we are afraid of being rejected, mocked or maybe we are afraid that after we pray there is no miracle. But through the incident that happened to Peter and John, we can learn something from them. Even though they were captured, trialed in court and was threatened, they did not stop to share the Gospel. They know that the Holy Spirit is the one who will give to them strength, courage and power just like the Lord Jesus promised. And of we take notice, because of the Holy Spirit, Peter and John are able to say what they said in court and through Holy Spirit, they gained courage to share and testify about the Gospel.
This is what we can learn from the apostles, that is to live reliant on the Holy Spirit and to believe fully in the Word of God. Because the Lord promised that the Holy Spirit will give power to testify and the Lord said that power, signs and miracles will follow us. So, let us not be afraid to share the Gospel, but let us ask for wisdom, courage from the Holy Spirit. Because the Holy Spirit will lead, give power and put words in our mouth, if we truly believe and do the Word of God to testify for the Lord.

Tetapi melalui kejadian yang terjadi atas Petrus dan Yohanes, kita dapat belajar sesuatu dari mereka. Walaupun mereka ditangkap, disidang dan diancam, mereka tidak berhenti untuk memberitakan Firman Tuhan. Mereka tahu bahwa Roh Kuduslah yang akan memberikan kepada mereka kekuatan, keberanian dan juga kuasa seperti yang Tuhan Yesus janjikan. Dan bila kita perhatikan, oleh karena Roh Kuduslah Petrus dan Yohanes dapat berkata-kata ketika mereka disidang dan melalui Roh Kuduslah mereka mendapatkan keberanian kembali untuk memberitakan Injil Kristus.
Inilah yang dapat kita pelajari dari para rasul, yakni untuk hidup bergantung kepada Roh Kudus dan untuk percaya penuh kepada Firman-Nya. Sebab Tuhan menjanjikan Roh Kudus yang akan memberikan kuasa untuk bersaksi dan Tuhan juga yang berkata bahwa kuasa dan tanda-tanda mujijat akan mengikuti kita. Jadi, marilah kita jangan takut untuk memberitakan Injil, tetapi biarlah kita meminta hikmat, keberanian dari Roh Kudus. Sebab Roh Kudus yang akan memimpin, memberi kuasa dan menaruh perkataan di mulut kita, bila kita dengan sungguh-sungguh percaya dan melakukan Firman Tuhan untuk bersaksi bagi Tuhan.
