Pembacaan Alkitab: Nehemia 13
Kita lihat bagaimana pertobatan Israel tidak tahan lama dan ketika Nehemia pergi dari hadapan mereka, mereka kembali berbuat jahat dan ketika Nehemia balik, ia menemukan mereka semu melanggar Firman Tuhan yang telah diperintahkan. Selama sejarah Israel dari pimpinan Musa sampai dengan pimpinan Nehemia ini, kita dapat melihat bahwa Israel hanyalah mengikuti pemimpin yang ada dan mereka hanyalah terbawa oleh emosi sesaat. Tetapi kehidupan, cara berpikir dan gaya hidup mereka tidak berubah.
Dan sangat disayangkan banyak juga dari orang percaya yang demikian, yakni hanya ikut-ikutan dan tidak ada perubahan secara pribadi di dalam kehidupannya. Sehingga ketika pemimpin yang mereka ikuti mulai salah langkah, atau ada yang lebih berpengaruh datang walaupun pengaruh yang buruk, maka mereka mulai mengikuti yang buruk itu. Oleh karena itu, marilah kita periksa iman dan keputusan hidup kita sebagai orang percaya. Apakah kita hanya mengikuti orang, keluarga, dan teman-teman kita? Ataukah kita benar-benar percaya bahwa Tuhan Yesus Kristus adalah satu-satunya Tuhan dan Juru Selamat? Bila memang kita sungguh-sungguh dan bukan ikut-ikutan, biarlah kehidupan kita, cara kita berpikir dan gaya hidup kita diubahkan oleh Firman Tuhan dan oleh pimpinan Roh Kudus untuk memancarkan Kristus di dalam hidup kita.

Bible Reading: Nehemiah 13
We see how the repentance of the Israelites did not last long and when Nehemiah went away from them, they went back to sin and when Nehemiah was back, he found that all of them had sinned against the Word of God. Along the history of Israel from the leadership of Moses until Nehemiah, we can see that the Israelites only follows the leader and they are only brought by their emotions at that time/ But their lives, their paradigm and lifestyle did not change.
And unfortunately there are many believers who are like that, that is only following others and there is no personal change in his/her life. Such that when their leader took a wrong step or when there is a leader with a stronger influence, though it is a bad influence, they will start to follow the bad influence. Therefore, let us check our faith and our decision in life as a believer. Do we only follow others, families and friends? Or do we really believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only Lord and Saviour? If we are serious and not only following others, let our lives, our paradigm, and lifestyle be changed by the Word of God and by the guidance of the Holy Spirit to reflect Christ in our lives.
