Pembacaan Alkitab: 2Samuel 19-20
Ketika Daud kembali ke Yerusalem sebagai raja karena Absalom telah mati, orang Israel beserta suku Yehuda berperang mulut. Sebab orang Israel merasa bahwa suku Yehuda merendahkan mereka dan tidak menganggap mereka hanya karena raja berasal dari suku Yehuda. Orang Israel iri kepada suku Yehuda dan sebenarnya ingin mengiringi raja. Mareka melakukan hal ini karena mereka memerlukan sesuatu yang nyata bahwa mereka juga termasuk dari rakyat raja, khususnya setelah mereka mendukung Absalom dan bukan raja Daud. Padahal sebenarnya mereka tahu bahwa bagaimanapun juga mereka tetap rakyat raja Daud dan sebenarnya tidak perlu berperang mulut dan akhirnya membuat perpecahan antara suku-suku Israel. BIla kita perhatikan, kita juga sering berlaku seperti itu. Terkadang karena iri hati dan juga kepercayaan diri yang rendah, kita merasa bahwa kita bukan bagian dari gereja atau umat Tuhan hanya karena kita tidak melayani di depan, atau karena kita tidak sering bergaul dengan orang-orang yang "penting", yakni orang-orang yang melayani di depan. Padahal sebenarnya kita semua sama, kita sama-sama anak-anak Tuhan, sama-sama umat Tuhan hanya saja setiap dari kita memiliki bagian kita masing-masing di dalam tubuh Kristus. Sama saja seperti ilustrasi yang Paulus berikan di dalam 1Korintus 12:12-31, bahwa terkadang kaki ingin menjadi tangan, atau telinga ingin menjadi mata karena mereka tidak merasa termasuk bagian dari tubuh. Ini adalah pemikiran yang salah. Oleh karena itu, biarlah kita tahu, ingat dan sadar bahwa kita adalah bagian dari tubuh Kristus, apapun bagian kita. Hanya satu hal yang membuat kita tidak menjadi bagian dari tubuh, yakni bila kita sendiri yang mundur dan menjauh dari persekutuan umat Tuhan. Oleh karena itu, biarlah kita tidak ragukan posisi dan status kita sebagai anak-anak Tuhan dan umat Tuhan, tetapi ketahuilah bahwa kita semua adalah bagian dari satu tubuh, yakni tubuh Kristus.

Bible Reading: 2Samuel 19-20
When David came back to Jerusalem as king because Absalom has died, the Israelites fought with their words with the tribe of Judah. Because the Israelites felt that the tribes of Judah look down on them and do not consider them as part of David's people because the king is from Judah. The Israelites were jealous of the tribe of Judah and really wanted to be there with the king for his homecoming trip. They did this because they needed something substantial to ensure that they are still part of the people of the king, especially after they rebelled agaisnt king David by supporting Absalom. The truth is, they know that they are still the king's people and there was no need for a fight which resulted in disunity between the tribes of Israel. If we took notice, we also have done the same in some way or another. Sometimes, because of jealousy or low self-esteem, we feel that we are not part of the church or the people of God just because we do not minister in front, or because we do not hang around with those who are "imporant", that is the people ministering in front. WHile in reality we are all the same, we are all the children of God and the people of God, only that each one of us has our own part in the body of Christ. The same with the illustration given by Paul in 1Corinthians 12:12-31, that sometimes the feet want to be the hands or the ears want to be the eyes because they do not feel like part of the body otherwise. This is the wrong mindset. Therefore, let us know, remember and realise that we are part of the body of Christ, what ever our part is. Only one thing that makes us not part of the body, that is if we, withdraw ourselves and move away from fellowship of the people of God. Therefore, let us not doubt our position and status as the children of God and people of God, but let us realise that we are all part of one body, that is the body of Christ.
