Salomo meminta kepada Tuhan agar siapapun yang berdoa dan berseru kepada Tuhan dengan memandang kepada Rumah Tuhan, didengarkan oleh Tuhan. Rumah Tuhan dapat juga melambangkan Tuhan sendiri sebab disitulah kemuliaan Tuhan turun dan termanifestasi pada waktu itu. Dari doa Salomo, yang terpenting adalah bila kita mencari Tuhan, mencari wajah-Nya, hadirat-Nya dan kemuliaan-Nya, maka apa yang kita doakan akan didengarkan oleh Tuhan. Tetapi Salomo juga berdoa bahwa apa yang didengarkan itu untuk kemuliaan Tuhan dan agar orang-orang mengenal nama Tuhan. Sebab apa yang diminta bukanlah untuk kesenangan pribadi, tetapi untuk keperluan bangsa dan kebutuhan hidup. Begitu jugalah bila kita berdoa, biarlah kita mencari wajah, hadirat dan kemuliaan Tuhan, biarlah kita meminta hal-hal yang akan membawa kemuliaan bagi nama Tuhan, yang akan membuat orang-orang mengenal nama Tuhan melalui kehidupan kita. Tetapi yang terpenting adalah untuk kita mencari wajah Tuhan, datang kepada hadirat-Nya dan bukan sekedar meminta apapun seperti kita meminta kepada pesuruh atau pekerja kita. Kita harus ingat bahwa kita sedang meminta kepada Raja segala raja dan itu perlu dilakukan dengan hormat.

Solomon asked from the Lord so that anyone who prayed or cried out to the Lord by facing to the House of the LOrd, God will hear. The House of the Lord represents the Lord Himself, because the glory of God came down and manifested there at that time. From Solomon's prayer, the most important thing when we seek the Lord is to seek His face, His presence and glory, then whatever we pray for wil be heard. But solomon also prayed that what should be heard are the things that brings glory to the Lord and so that others owuld know His name. For what were asked were not for personal pleasuer but for the need of the nation and life. So should we, when we pray, let us seek His face, presence and glory, let us ask for things that brings glory to His name, that makes others know the name of the Lord through our lives. But the most important is that we seek the face of the Lord, come to His presence and not just asking as if we are asking our workers or slaves. We have to remember that we are asking to the King of kings and we need to do it with respect and honour.
