Pembacaan Alkitab: 1Samuel 5-6
Ketika Tabut Allah, yang melambangkan hadirat Tuhan pada waktu itu, direbut oleh orang Filistin dan ditaruh di sisi Dagon, allah orang Filistin, Dagon itu ditemukan jatuh dua kali dan yang terakhir sampai hancur. Bukan hanya itu saja, tetapi kuasa Tuhan juga menekan mereka sebab Tuhan adalah kudus dan kehidupan mereka penuh dengan hal-hal yang bertentangan dengan Tuhan. Kita dapat melihat bahwa iblis itu tahu siapa Tuhan dan ia takut dan tunduk kepada otoritas dan kuasa Tuhan. Tetapi sayangnya orang Filisitin yang menyaksikan hal itu, melalui kejadian dengan Dagon, bukannya bertobat dan mulai menyembah Tuhan, tetapi mereka malah menjauhkan Tabut Allah itu jauh-jauh dari mereka. Sayangnya juga, banyak dari kita yang berlaku seperti ini. Kita tahu bahwa ada hal-hal yang memang tidak berkenan di hadapan Tuhan, tetapi bukannya kita singkirkan hal-hal itu dan menyembah Tuhan, tetapi kita malah menjauh dari Tuhan agar kita dapat melakukan hal-hal itu tanpa rasa bersalah. Terkadang kita menjauh dari persekutuan dengan orang-orang percaya. Terkadang kita mulai malas dan membuat banyak alasan untuk tidak membaca Firman Tuhan. Terkadang kita juga mulai malas berdoa. Tetapi, biarlah hari ini kita sadar. Lihatlah, iblis pun tersungkur di hadapan Tuhan, janganlah kita terus bandel, tetapi biarlah kita buang perbuatan-perbuatan yang tidak berkenan dan biarlah kita tunduk kepada kuasa dan otoritas Tuhan.

Bible Reading: 1Samuel 5-6
When the ark of God, which represents the presence of the Lord at that time, was taken away by the Philistines and places at the side of Dagon, the gods of the Philistines, Dagon was found on the floor twice and the last time Dagon was found broken in pieces. Not only that, the power of God was also afflicted them because God is holy and their lives were full of things that are agaisnt the Lord. We can see that the devil knows who the Lord is and he fears and submits to the authority and power of God. Unfortunately the Philistines who witnessed that, through the incident with Dagon, did not repent and start worshiping the Lord, but instead they took the ark of God far away from them. Another unfortunate thing, many of us are doing the same thing. We know that there are things that are not pleasing to the Lord, but instead of getting rid of them and worshiping God, we tend to steer away from God so that we may do those things without guilt. Sometimes we start to stay away from the fellowship of believers. Sometimes we start to get lazy and makes a lot of excuses to not read the Word of God. Sometimes we also start to get lazy to pray. But, let us wake up today. Look, even the devil fall before the Lord, do not keep on rebelling, but let us get rid of the unpleasing things and let us submit to the power and authority of God.

Sayangnya juga, banyak dari kita yang berlaku seperti ini. Kita tahu bahwa ada hal-hal yang memang tidak berkenan di hadapan Tuhan, tetapi bukannya kita singkirkan hal-hal itu dan menyembah Tuhan, tetapi kita malah menjauh dari Tuhan agar kita dapat melakukan hal-hal itu tanpa rasa bersalah. Terkadang kita menjauh dari persekutuan dengan orang-orang percaya. Terkadang kita mulai malas dan membuat banyak alasan untuk tidak membaca Firman Tuhan. Terkadang kita juga mulai malas berdoa. Tetapi, biarlah hari ini kita sadar.
