Pembacaan Alkitab: Keluaran 19-20
Untuk menyambut kedatangan Tuhan ke tengah-tengah umat-Nya, Tuhan memerintahkan agar umat-Nya menguduskan diri selama tiga hari lebih dahulu. Oleh karena kekudusan-Nya, setiap orang yang menghadap kepada Tuhan harus sangat waspada dan kudus, sebab bila tidak mereka akan mati karena telah melanggar kekudusan Allah. Sekarang ini , oleh darah Tuhan Yesus Kristus atas kita, kita tidak lagi perlu demikian. Tetapi satu hal yang kita tetap perlu miliki adalah rasa takut akan Tuhan. Bayangkan bila kita di posisi Israel pada waktu itu, bukankah kita juga akan takut akan Tuhan, sehingga kita tidak berani berdosa di hadapan-Nya? Tetapi sekarang banyak dari kita yang tidak sadar bahwa sebenarnya kita selalu berada di hadapan Tuhan dan mata Tuhan selalu melihat segala hal yang kita lakukan. Bila kita sadar akan hal ini dan bila kita memiliki takut akan Tuhan, maka kita akan dapat memilih untuk mengikuti Firman Tuhan daripada berdosa. Jadi, biarlah kita miliki rasa takut akan Tuhan, serta sadari dan selalu ingat bahwa Tuhan selalu ada di sisi kita dan mata-Nya selalu melihat kepada kita. Oleh karena itu, hiduplah yang kudus dan yang tidak melanggar kekudusan Tuhan.

Bible Reading: Exodus 19-20
To welcome the presence of God in the midst of His people, the Lord commanded His people to sanctify and purify themselves for three days first. Because of His holiness, every one that comes to God will have to be careful and holy, for if not, they will die because they have transgressed the holiness of God. Now, because of the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ over us, we are no longer required to do the same. But one thing that we still need to have is the fear of the Lord. Imagine if we are in Israel's position then, would we not also fear the Lord, such that we do not dare to sin before Him? But now there are many of us who do not realise that we are always before the Lord and His eyes are always on us, seeing everything that we do. If we realise of this and if we have the fear of the Lord, then we would choose to follow the Word of God rather than sinning. So, let us have the fear of the Lord, as well as the realisation and always remember that the Lord is always beside us and His eyes on us. Therefore, live a holy life and do not transgressed the holiness of God.
