Pembacaan Alkitab: Imamat 25
Tuhan memerintahkan agar ada tahun Yobel, yakni di mana semua budak dilepaskan dan dibiarkan kembali kepada rumahnya masing-masing dan segala hutang dihapuskan, dan juga di mana tanah mereka diberikan istirahat. Tuhan juga berkata bahwa Ia akan mencukupi kebutuhan mereka ketika tanah itu diberi sabat dengan memberikan hasil tuaian yang berlimpah. Tuhan juga memberikan perintah tentang budak dan penebusan antara bangsa Israel. Dan bila kita perhatikan, Tuhan tidak mau kalau ada dari umat Israel yang harus menjual dirinya sebagai budak, oleh sebab itu ada penebusan dan walaupun harus sampai menjadi budak, tidak boleh dengan orang asing, tetapi dengan bangsa sendiri, sebab dengan bangsa sendiri akan ada tahun Yobel yang di mana mereka bebas dan Tuhan juga perintahkan agar mereka diperlakukan dengan baik, walaupun bekerja sebagai budak. Kita dapat melihat bahwa Tuhan ingin menjaga agar bangsa Israel rukun, saling mendukung dan tidak kekurangan sampai perlu meminta kepada bangsa lain, tetapi malahan dapat menjadi berkat bagi bangsa lain. Hal yang sama yang Tuhan inginkan bagi setiap dari kita, terutama di dalam gereja, yakni kumpulan orang percaya. Tuhan ingin ada hormat antara umat-Nya, ada kerukunan dan saling mendukung dalam segala hal. Oleh karena itu, singkirkanlah segala perbedaan yang ada dan fokus kepada persamaan yang kita miliki, yakni Tuhan Yesus Kristus. Jangan biarkan perbedaan itu membuka celah untuk perpecahan antara umat Tuhan, tetapi biarlah perbedaan itu dipakai untuk menjangkau jiwa lebih banyak lagi, untuk menyebarkan kasih Tuhan. Jadi, biarlah kita hidup rukun dan saling menghormati satu dan yang lain, seperti apa yang Tuhan perintahkan kepada Israel.

Bible Reading: Leviticus 25
The Lord commanded so that there is a year of Jubilee, where all slaves are set free to go back to their homes and all debts are wiped clean and where their land has to be given rest. The Lord also said that He will provide for their needs by giving them harvest in abundance. The Lord also give commands regarding slaves and redemption of land or person. And if we notice, the Lord do not want if there are any of His people that sells himself as slaves, that is why He gave them the law of redemption. If they have to become slaves, they cannot be slave of other nations, but within their own nation, because within their own nation there is the year of Jubilee where they are set free and the Lord also commanded so that they would be treated well and with respect, even though they are slaves. We can see that the Lord wants to take care of His nation so that they live in harmony, supporting one another and not lacking in anything that they have to ask from other nations, but should be a blessing unto other nations. The Lord wants the same thing from us, especially in church, that is the fellowship of believers. The Lord wants honour between His people, harmony and supporting one another in all things. Therefore, put aside all differences and focus to the one thing that we all have in common, that is the Lord Jesus Christ. Do not let those differences opens up an opportunity for disunity and separation to occur in the midst of His people, but let those differences be used to reach more souls, to share the love of God. So, let us live in harmony, honouring one another as commanded by the Lord.
