Pembacaan Alkitab: Yehezkiel 20-21
Secara singkat telah dijelaskan cerita kasih dan hukuman Tuhan atas Israel. Israel yang adalah bangsa terpilih dari keturunan Abraham, Ishak dan Yakub, telah hidup penuh dengan kenajisan dan kejahatan dengan menyembah dan mengobankan korban bakaran kepada berhala-berhala. Hanya dalam pimpinan beberapa raja saja Israel berbuat apa yang Tuhan perintahkan, tetapi mereka lebih banyak melakukan hal-hal yang tidak sesuai dengan Firman Tuhan. Tetapi, walaupun banyak kejahatan dan kenajisan yang Israel lakukan, Tuhan tetap mengasihi mereka sehingga mereka tidak dipunahkan dari muka bumi. Tuhan juga menghukum mereka seperti seorang ayah menghukum anaknya yang dikasihinya. Tetapi Israel masih saja melakukan hal-hal yang najis dan menyakiti hati Tuhan. Tetapi justru di sinilah kita dapat melihat kasih Tuhan yang luar biasa, sebab walaupun Israel telah menyakiti hati Tuhan dengan sangat, Tuhan tetap mengingat akan janji-Nya terhadap Abraham dan terhadap Israel, sehingga Tuhan tidak membuang Israel. Begitu juga dengan kita, Tuhan masih tetap mengasihi kita walaupun kita terus menerus bandel dan tidak mau melakukan Firman Tuhan atau mendengarkan-Nya, Tuhan tetap mengasihi kita. Inilah kasih Tuhan terhadap kita umat-Nya. Bila kita sudah tahu akan hal ini, pilihan tetap di tangan kita, apakah kita mau bertobat dan benar-benar mengasihi Tuhan ataukah kita masih tetap ingin bermain-main dengan dosa. Periksalah hati kita dan biarlah kita bertobat, sebab bila kita dapat berubah karena orang tua kita sendiri dapat tetap mengasihi kita walaupun kita jahat dan tidak berbakti kepada mereka, apalagi bila Tuhan, Bapa Surgawi kita yang tetap mengasihi kita walaupun kita telah menyakiti hati-Nya. Oleh karena itu, biarlah kita bertobat dan mengasihi Tuhan lebih dari segalanya.

In a short summary, it has been told of the love and punishment of the Lord over Israel. Israel who is a chosen nation from the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, has lived full of wickedness and being unholy by worshiping and offering sacrifices to idols. Only in some generations that Israel did what the Lord commanded them, but most of the times, they did things that is against the Word of God. But, even though there are many unholy and wicked things that Israel did, the Lord still loves them such that they are not completely wiped out of the earth. The Lord also punished them just as a father punishes his beloved children. But ISraels till did unholy and wicked things that hurts the Lord's heart. But here is where we can see the amazing love of God, because even though Israel has hurt the Lord so much, the Lord still remembers His promise to Abraham and to Israel, such that the Lord did not forsake Israel. This is how He also loves us, even though we have many times rejects and did not do the Word of God or listens to Him, the Lord still loves us. This is the love of God to us His people. If we know of this, the choices are still in our hands, do we want to repent and really loves the Lord or do we still want to play around with sin. Check our hearts and let us repent, for id we can change because of our parents who still loves us even through we forsake them and hurt them, moreover the Lord, our Heavenly Father, will still loves us even though we have hurt His heart. Therefore, let us really repent and love the Lord more than anything.
