Pembacaan Alkitab: 1Raja-Raja 17-18

Bible Reading: 1Kings 17-18
Elijah is an anointed prophet of God who lived in obedience and faithfulness to the Lord. Whereever he goes, the Lord is with Him. Even though there are no rain and famine are everywhere, Elijah was still able to drink and eat whereever the Lord sents him. This is the faithfulness and mercy of the Lord upon His people who are obedient and faithful to Him, one who does His Word. But the widow who was asked by Elijah to give him drink and food was also blessed because of her obedience and attitude of putting the servant of God before her. The widow can reject Elijah, for what she had for food was not even enough for her and her son, and it'll be even less if they have to share it with a third person. But because of her willingness to sacrifice for the servant of God and her obedience, the widow was also blessed and the flour alongwith her oil never ran out while Elijah lived there. Let us also learn from this widow to obey to the Word of God, to be willing to sacrifice in obeying the Word of God. Fir if there are no sacrifice on our part, then there is no faith, because everything still makes sense. But the things that is beyond our minds, those are the things that needs obedience and faith to the Lord. So, let us learn to be willing to sacrifice, obey and have faith to the Lord Almighty.
