Pembacaan Alkitab: 1Tawarikh 13-14
Ketika ada kecelakaan yang terjadi, dimana Uza memegang tabut Allah dengan tidak sengaja karena lembu-lembu tergelicir dan TUhan menghukum Uza hiungga mati, Daud menjadi takut untuk membawa tabut Allah itu ke kota di mana Daud tinggal. Terkadang mungkin kita juga takut untuk datang kepada Tuhan atau mengikuti Tuhan karena murka-Nya. Tetapi yang perlu kita perhatikan di sini adalah bahwa pada jaman itu, belum ada darah Yesus yang tercurah yang menyucikan umat manusia untuk dapat menghadap Allah setiap saat. Dan tabut Allah adalah lambang dan representasi Allah dan hadirat--Nya dan tidak sembarang orang dapat menghadap kepada Tuhan, tetapi hanyalah para imam yang dapat memindahkan tabut Allah. Jadi, sebenarnya pada saat itu, Uza melanggar kekudusan Allah dan karena belum ada darah Yesus yang mewakili mereka pada saat itu, Uza melanggar kekudusan Tuhan dan akibatnya adalah kematian. Tetapi jaman sekarang, kita memiliki darah Yesus yang tercurah yang menyucikan kita agar kita dapat menghadap kepada Tuhan, Allah kita, kapapnpun juga. Memang betul bahwa kita tidak akan langsung mati bila kita melanggar kekudusan Allah, karena kita hidup di jaman anug'rah, tetapi kita perlu belajar bahwa kekudusan itu sangatlah penting bagi Tuhan sebab Tuhan itu kudus. Jadi, janganlah kita takut menghadap kepada Tuhan, sebab bila kita bertobat dengan sungguh-sungguh, maka darah Yesus telah menyucikan kita dan menghapuskan dosa-dosa kita, sehingga kita datang ke hadapan Tuhan, kudus, oleh darah Yesus. Justru kita perlu untuk belajar takut akan Tuhan, karena kekudusan-Nya, agar kita tidak hidup dengan sembarangan, tetapi tidak takut untuk datang dan mengikuti-Nya, karena kita memiliki Yesus. Jadi, marilah kita datang ke hadapan Tuhan dengan rasa hormat, takut akan Tuhan, tetapi juga dengan iman bahwa kita kudus di dalam Yesus.

Bible Reading: 1Chronicles 13-14
When there was an accident, where Uzzah erached out to touch the ark of God accidentally because the oxen stumbled and the Lord punished him to die, David became afraid to bring the ark of God to his city. Sometimes maybe we are also afraind to come to the Lord or follow the Lord because of His wrath. But what we need to notice here is that at that time there was no blood of Jesus which was poured out to sanctify mankind so that we can come to God anytime. And the ark of God was a symbol and representative of God and His presence and not everyone can come to the Lord, but only the priests are allowed to move the ark of God. So, in truth, at that time, Uzzah dishonoured the holiness of God and because there was no blood of Jesus representing them at that time, Uzzah dishonoured God's holiness and the punishment was death. But nowadays, we have the blood of Jesus which was poured out to sanctify us so that we can come to the Lord, our God, anytime. It's true that we will not die straight away if we dishonoured the holiness of God, because wel ive in a time of grace, but we need to learn that holiness is very important to God because He is holy. So, do not be afraid to come to the Lord, for if we repent withour whole heart, the the blood of Jesus csanctifies us and wipes away our sins, so that we can come to the Lord, holy, bu the blood of Jesus. In fact, we need to learn to fear the Lord because of His holiness, so that we would not live foolishly as we like, but also not be afraid to come and follow Him, because we have Jesus. So, let us come to the Lord with honour, fear of God, but also with faith that we are holy in Jesus.
