Orang-orang Farisi lebih mementingkan hukum daripada kehidupan yang berkenan di hadapan Tuhan. Hal ini sangatlah jelas dari perbuatan dan perkataan mereka. Orang-orang Farisi lebih suka akan dilihat orang bahwa mereka orang kudus daripada benar-benar melayani mereka yang memerlukan. Dan hal ini lah yang ditegur oleh Tuhan Yesus, bahwa mereka dari luar terlihat baik dan kudus, tetapi dalamnya, hati mereka, itu tidak baik dan bahkan busuk. Dan melihat hal ini, biarlah kita juga menjaga kehidupan kita agar kita tidak menjadi seperti orang Farisi. Agar kita tidak mementingkan hukum dan tata cara melebihi yang tindakan-tindakan yang memancarkan kasih dan kemuliaan Tuhan. Tuhan ingin agar kita tidak hanya tahu akan Firman Tuhan, tetapi melakukannya juga dan belajar seperti Tuhan Yesus sendiri yang datang ke dunia untuk melayani dan bukan untuk dilayani. Jadi, biarlah kita periksa hidup kita agar tidak terlalu mati mengikuti hukum sehingga kita lupa akan kasih dan anugrah Tuhan yang mengatasi segalanya.

Bible Reading: Matthew 12
The Pharisees put more importance over the law rather than life that is pleasing to the Lord. This is apparent in their actions and words. The Pharisees like to be seen by people as holy people rather than really minister to those who needs it. And to this, Jesus rebuked them, that they looked good and holy from the outside, but inside, their hearts, are not good and rotten. Let us learn from this, so that we would guard our lives so that we would not be like the Pharisees. So that we would not put law and rituals above the actions that shows the love and glory of God. The Lord wants us to not only know the Word of God, but to do them and learn to be like the Lord Jesus who came to the earth to serve and not to be served. So, let us check our lives so that we would not follow the law in such a way that we forget about the love and grace of God that overcome all.
