Tuhan berkata bahwa Ia telah memisahkan Israel agar mereka menjadi milik-Nya. Hal yang sama berlaku bagi kita juga. Dan inilah yang dapat membuat kita menjadi kudus, yakni bila kita memisahkan diri kita dari segala yang jahat. Yakni untuk kita tidak melakukan hal-hal yang menentang kekudusan Tuhan, menentang kebenaran Tuhan. Tuhan tahu bahwa orang Israel akan hidup di tengah-tengah kebiasaan orang banyak di tanah orang lain dan itu akan membuat mereka ingin ikut khalayak ramai dan akhirnya berdosa. Oleh sebab itu Tuhan telah memeringati lebih dahulu. Bila kita pikirkan, kita juga sebenarnya sama, bahwa sebagai manusia kita condong untuk mengikuti khalayak ramai dan apa yang sepertinya normal atau yang sedang terkenal. Sama seperti model-model baju yang berubah dari jaman ke jaman, atau seperti teknologi yang makin canggih. Semua ini boleh-boleh saja, asalkan kita tetap menjaga jalan kita agar tetap berada di dalam kebenaran. Jadi, dalam hal-hal tertentu, kita perlu memisahkan diri kita dari mengikuti khalayak ramai, tetapi tidak berarti kita berhenti berbicara ataupun berteman dengan orang-orang, sebab perbuatan mereka yang tidak kita ikuti, orangnya tetaplah kita perlu kasihi. Jadi, pisahkan diri kita dari perbuatan-perbuatan atau pemikiran-pemikiran yang terlihat normal pada jaman di mana kita hidup tetapi yang menentang kebenaran Tuhan, agar kita tetap kudus dan benar di hadapan Tuhan.

Bible Reading: Leviticus 20
The Lord said that He has separate Israel so that they become His. The same thing applies to us too. And this is what makes us holy, that if we separate ourselves from evil things. That is for us not to do things which violate the holiness of the Lord, that violates His righteousness. The Lord knows that the Israelites would live in the midst of the habits of the crowd in other nation's land and that would make them want to follow the crowd and in the end, sin. That is why the Lord has warned them beforehand. If we ponder on it, we are the same too, that as men, we tend to follow the crowd and what seems normal or in trend at that time. Just like fashion and technology which increasingly developing. All these are fine, as long as we take care of our path so that we would still walk in righteousness. So, in some ares, we need to separate ourselves from following the crowd, but does not mean that we stop talking to others, for it is their actions that we do not follow, but we still need to love the person. So, separate ourselves from actions or mindsets that seems normal in our time but in fact is going against the righteousness of God, so that we may be holy and righteous before the Lord.
