Pembacaan Alkitab: 2Tawarikh 25-27
Banyak raja yang pada awalnya mengikuti Tuhan karena ada yang mendidik mereka, tetapi setelah mereka menang atas bangsa-bangsa, mereka menjadi sombong, tinggi hati dan akhirnya mereka meninggalkan Tuhan. Banyak dari kita juga mungkin mengalami atau menghadapi hal yang sama, yakni ketika kita mulai mendapatkan kesuksesan, kita mulai menjadi sombong dan lupa akan Tuhan yang memberikan kesuksesan itu kepada kita. Melihat riwayat para raja Yehuda, kita diingatkan agar kita tidak menjadi seperti mereka. Sebab di katakan bahwa mereka tidak mengikuti Tuhan dengan segenap hati dan mereka masih kompromi dengan kebenaran Tuhan. Oleh sebab itu, biarlah kita mencari Tuhan dengan segenap hati kita, bukan hanya sekedar bila perlu, tetapi benar-benar mengasihi Tuhan dan mau meluangkan waktu dengan Tuhan, mempelajari Firman-Nya karena kita mengasihi Tuhan. Biarlah juga kita tidak kompromi dengan Firman Tuhan karena itu menguntungkan atau nyaman bagi kita, tetapi biarlah kita lakukan kebenaran Tuhan dengan penuh. Misalnya, Firman Tuhan berkata bahwa tidak tidak boleh berkata dusta, maka segala macam kebohongan baik itu dengan maksud yang kita pikir baik atau buruk, itu tetaplah kebohongan. Jadi, marilah kita hidup mengikuti Tuhan dengan segenap hati tanpa kompromi agar kita tidak seperti banyak raja-raja Yehuda yang pada akhirnya tidak setia kepada Tuhan.

Bible Reading: 2Chronicles 25-27
There are many kings who followed the Lord in the beginning because there was someone who taught them, but adter they have won against nations, they became proud and haughty and in the end they left God. Many of us may also experienced or facing the same thing, that when we start to gain successes, we start to be proud and haughty that we forget about the Lord who gave us these successes. Looking at the lives of these kings of Judah, we are reminded to be not like them. Because it is said that they did not follow the Lord with their whole heart and that they still compromise with the truth of God. Therefore, let us seek the Lord with our whole heart, and not just when we needed somehting, but really love the Lord and want to spend time with the Lord, studying His Word because we love Him. Let us also not compromise the Word of God just because it is beneficial or comfortable for us, but let us do the whole truth of God. For example, the Word of God said that we shall not lie, then all kinds of lie whether it was what we think of a good intention or not, still is a lie. So, let us live following the Lord with our whole heart and without compromise so that we would not be like many of the kings of Judah who, in the end, was not faithful to the Lord.

Banyak raja yang pada awalnya mengikuti Tuhan karena ada yang mendidik mereka, tetapi setelah mereka menang atas bangsa-bangsa, mereka menjadi sombong, tinggi hati dan akhirnya mereka meninggalkan Tuhan. Banyak dari kita juga mungkin mengalami atau menghadapi hal yang sama, yakni ketika kita mulai mendapatkan kesuksesan, kita mulai menjadi sombong dan lupa akan Tuhan yang memberikan kesuksesan itu kepada kita. Melihat riwayat para raja Yehuda, kita diingatkan agar kita tidak menjadi seperti mereka. Sebab di katakan bahwa mereka tidak mengikuti Tuhan dengan segenap hati dan mereka masih kompromi dengan kebenaran Tuhan. Oleh sebab itu, biarlah kita mencari Tuhan dengan segenap hati kita, bukan hanya sekedar bila perlu, tetapi benar-benar mengasihi Tuhan dan mau meluangkan waktu dengan Tuhan, mempelajari Firman-Nya karena kita mengasihi Tuhan. Biarlah juga kita tidak kompromi dengan Firman Tuhan karena itu menguntungkan atau nyaman bagi kita, tetapi biarlah kita lakukan kebenaran Tuhan dengan penuh. Misalnya, Firman Tuhan berkata bahwa tidak tidak boleh berkata dusta, maka segala macam kebohongan baik itu dengan maksud yang kita pikir baik atau buruk, itu tetaplah kebohongan. Jadi, marilah kita hidup mengikuti Tuhan dengan segenap hati tanpa kompromi agar kita tidak seperti banyak raja-raja Yehuda yang pada akhirnya tidak setia kepada Tuhan.

There are many kings who followed the Lord in the beginning because there was someone who taught them, but adter they have won against nations, they became proud and haughty and in the end they left God. Many of us may also experienced or facing the same thing, that when we start to gain successes, we start to be proud and haughty that we forget about the Lord who gave us these successes. Looking at the lives of these kings of Judah, we are reminded to be not like them. Because it is said that they did not follow the Lord with their whole heart and that they still compromise with the truth of God. Therefore, let us seek the Lord with our whole heart, and not just when we needed somehting, but really love the Lord and want to spend time with the Lord, studying His Word because we love Him. Let us also not compromise the Word of God just because it is beneficial or comfortable for us, but let us do the whole truth of God. For example, the Word of God said that we shall not lie, then all kinds of lie whether it was what we think of a good intention or not, still is a lie. So, let us live following the Lord with our whole heart and without compromise so that we would not be like many of the kings of Judah who, in the end, was not faithful to the Lord.
