Pembacaan Alkitab: 1Tawarikh 9

Orang Israel dan Bangsa Yehuda semuanya masuk ke dalam pembuangan karena mereka telah berdosa terhadap Tuhan. Dan selama pembuangan itu, ada beberapa orang yang kembali menetap di Yerusalem, kota di mana Bait Allah berada, dan yang kembali adalah beberapa orang Israel awam, para imam, orang Lewi dan para budak di Bait Allah. Apakah kita pernah berpikir kenapa Yerusalem adalah kota pertama yang di isi kembali dengan orang-orang Israel? Dan mengapa ada para imam dan orang Lewi yang termasuk dari orang-orang pertama yang kembali ke sana?

Kita tahu bahwa Bait Allah adanya di Yerusalam dan Bait Allah itu adalah tempat di mana Tuhan hadir dan ada. Yerusalem adalah tempat di mana orang Israel perlu kembali untuk bertobat dan berseru kepada Tuhan oleh karena Bait Allah. Dan ketika mereka kembali ke dalam Yerusalem dan Bait Allah, ada para imam dan orang-orang Lewi yang mengurus segalanya dari menjaga pintu gerbang, mengurus perkakas-perkakas rumah Tuhan, penyanyi dan sebagainya. Hal ini menunjukkan kepada kita perlu mengurusi Bait Allah yang telah begitu lama ditinggal begitu saja. Dan kita tahu bahwa Bait Allah itu adalah tubuh kita sendiri (1Korintus 3:16). Ini berarti ketika kita bertobat, ada banyak hal yang perlu di bereskan di dalam kehidupan kita, agar itu layak kembali untuk Tuhan hadir dan dipakai untuk menaikkan penyembahan-penyembahan kita kepada Tuhan. Dan hal ini dilakukan oleh para imam dan orang Lewi setiap harinya. Oleh karena itu, marilah kita selalu pastikan bahwa kehidupan kita, yakni Bait Allah ini, layak untuk menaikkan penyembahan bagi Tuhan setiap harinya.

Bible Reading: 1Chronicles 9

The Israelites and the tribe of Judah all were taken as captive because they have sinned against the Lord. And while they were taken as captives, some went back to stay at Jerusalem, where the Temple of the Lord is and those who came back are a few Israelites, priests, Levites and temple servants. Have we ever thought as to why Jerusalem is the first city that is filled with its people again? And why are there priests and Levites that were part of those who came back the first time?

We know that the Temple of God is in Jerusalem and it is where the Lord is present. Jerusalem is a place where Israelites need to come back and repent and cry out to the Lord because of the Temple of God. And when they comes back to Jerusalem and the temple of God, there are priests and Levites to take care of the gates, the things of the temple of God, as singers and etc. This shows that we need to take care of the Temple of God that has been left for so long. And we know that the Temple of God is ourselves (1Corinthians 3:16). This means that when we repent, there are many things that we need to settle in our lives, so that it is worthy to used to lift up worships to the Lord and for the Lord to be present. And this is done by the priests and Levites every day. Therefore, let us always make sure that our lives, the Temple of God, is worthy to lift up worships to the Lord every day.
