Pembacaan Alkitab: 2Raja-Raja 21-22

Dalam pasal-pasal ini kita dapat lihat bahwa ketika Raja Yosia mendapatkan kitab taurat di rumah Tuhan dan ketika isinya dibaca, maka remuklah hati Yosia, dikoyakkannya pakaiannya dan menangislah ia di hadapan Tuhan, merendahkan hatinya. Dari sini dapat kita lihat bahwa ternyata bangs Israel telah sekian lama tidak membaca Firman Tuhan. Padahal bila kita lihat awal-awal mereka keluar dari Mesir oleh kuasa tangan Tuhan, Tuhan mengajarkan agar mereka memperkatakan dan mengajarkan Firman Tuhan turun temurun. Dan karena mereka tidak melakukan hal ini, maka bangsa ini bukannya dipenuhi oleh kebenaran Tuhan, tetapi mereka terpenuhi oleh segala yang jahat yang ada di dunia. Betapa pentingnya Firman Tuhan itu!

Oleh sebab itu, marilah ktia belajar untuk memperkatakan, mendengarkan, membaca, membagikan Firman Tuhan di dalam hidup kita. Sehingga hidup kita ini penuh dengan Firman Tuhan dan bukan dengan hal-hal yang tidak berguna dan bahkan, yang jahat di mata Tuhan. Biarlah kita tidak lupa untuk mengisi kehidupan kita setiap hari dengan Firman Tuhan. Lihatlah kehidupan Israel yang tidak mengikuti Tuhan dan saat mereka mengikuti Tuhan, bukankah itu Tuhan berikan kepada kita dalam Firman-Nya sebagai contoh sehingga kita tidak mengulang kesalahan Israel yang sudah-sudah? Maka dari itu, mari kita dahulukan Tuhan, ikuti dan taat akan Firman-Nya, sebab Tuhanlah Allah dan Firman-Nya adalah hidup.

Bible Reading: 2Kings 21-22

In these chapters we can see that when King Josiah, received the book of the law and when the content was read, his heart was broken, he tore his clothes and cried before the Lord, humbling himself. From here we can see that the Israelites has never read the book of law for such a long time. While if we look at the beginning of their exodus from Egypt that was by the power of God's hands, the Lord taught them to say the Word of God, to teach it from generation to generation. And because they did not do this, the nation is filled with all the evil and wicked things of the world instead of being filled by the Word of God. How important the Word of God is!

Therefore, let us learn to speak, listen, read, share the Word of God in our lives. So that our lives will bef illed by the Word of God and not by things which are in vain and even by wicked and evil things before the Lord. Let us not forget to fill our lives everyday with the Word of God. Look at the lives of the Israelites when they did not follow the Lord and when they did, isn't that is given by the Lord in His Word as an example for us to not repeat the same mistake? Therefore, let us prioritise God, follow and obey His Words, because the Lord is God and His Word is life.
